Local Crime in Chadsmead – Sep/2011

The community policing team for Chadsmead are issuing quarterly newsletters. Key messages from the Sept/2011 issue are highlighted below:
  • Beacon Park has been included in "Operation Safer Nights" following problems with youths causing criminal damage and drinking alcohol.
  • BSARA says: "If construction work been completed on time the fencing would have been removed before the start of the school holidays."
  • BSARA says: "Local residents have been trying to draw this issue to the District Council's attention for some time."

Long-term trends in Lichfield's level of recordable crime

The Office of National Statistics (ONS) say that Lichfield's level of recordable crime is substantially lower over the last nine years. Key statistics are:
  • 39% fall in recordable crime for the 12 months ending Mar/2011 vs Mar/2002.
  • The largest percentage falls involve offences against property.
  • The largest percentage increases involve offences against persons.
