Beacon Park
Beacon Park is a great asset for the whole city and district of Lichfield, it is set to the west of Beacon Street and is bounded by Swan Road to Abnalls lane. Local residents are fortunate to have this facility on their dooorstep but sometimes suffer the adverse consequences of anti-social behaviour and petty crime in the park.
BSARA represents residents views through the Parks Friends Group. Our aim is to ensure:
(i) that the park is a safe and pleasant place for all users and that anti-social behaviour is dealt with effectively;
(ii) that conflict between residents and park users is minimised, particularly when large events take place;
(iii) that the park is properly maintained;
(iv) that the voice of the local community is heard before major decisions are taken regarding future improvements and ongoing maintenance; and
(v) that the level of resources (revenue & capital) committed to the Park should not fall below that agreed with the Heritage Lottery Fund and that the District Council be asked to confirm this annually.
