Staffordshire County Council are resurfacing the A51 Western Bypass and Stafford Road, Lichfield starting in April 2013. It is anticipated that the work will take a number of weeks to complete and inevitably will cause traffic disruption that will impact on to Beacon Street.

BSARA will step up Speedwatch during this period with the aim of keeping speeds within the legal limit. A number of serious speeding / dangerous overtaking manoeuvres have been reported by members over recent weeks and with the additional traffic due to the resurfacing work on the A51 this type of inconsiderate driving could result in a serious road traffic accident.
